Iris Louise Justice, 86, of Crisfield, passed away on August 15, 2022 at her home.
Born in Crisfield November 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther Sterling and Virginia Emma Nelson Sterling of the Lawsonia district.
Raised "down neck", she attended public school in Crisfield. During her lifetime she worked in various occupations including the former "Mrs. Paul's Kitchens" in Crisfield. In later years she worked as a care provider to numerous clients in Somerset County before retiring.
She was a longtime member of the Crisfield Wesleyan Church and loved her church family. She also loved to volunteer in the church kitchen and helped prepare meals for many years.
She is survived by sons, William Justice (Lynn), George Tyler (Lisa), Richard Britton; brother, Martin Sterling (Mercy); granddaughters, Adrian Lonick, Lauren Justice, and Alyson Justice; and several nieces and nephews. Also, her very special friends, Barbara and Frank Applegate and Lottie Matthews, who were family to her; and her very special caregiver, Angie Brown-Ward.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah; son, Charles Justice; sister, Susan Powell; brothers, Earl "Buster" Nelson, Leroy "Barney" Riggin, and Vaughn "Ephriam" Riggin.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Bob Daniels will be Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2 pm at Asbury Cemetery.
