Honwood Gillette Evans, 92, of Crisfield, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield. She had been making her home with her daughter for the past four years.

Born February 15, 1920 in Crisfield she was the daughter of Honwood and Ethel Sterling Gillette. A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was a retired seamstress for the former Crisfield Sportswear.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield. She enjoyed working in her yard and her gardens. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-child. Her first husband, Eugene Tawes, died in 1962 and second husband, Wesley Evans, died in 1990.

Surviving is her daughter, Annette Tawes McClenahan and husband Charles "Charlie Mac"; grandchildren, Ryan McClenahan of Plantation, FL, and Heather McClenahan of Crisfield; great-grandson, James Andrew Hinman; and cousin, Kay Wheeler of Crisfield.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call from 1-2 PM. The Rev. Steve Willing will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
