HOMER D. TYLER, JR., 49, of Crisfield and formerly of Smith Island, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born on Smith Island on July 5, 1957, he was a son of Homer D. Tyler, Sr. of Crisfield and the late Helen Evans Tyler.
He was a life-long waterman and a member of Ewell United Methodist Church on Smith Island, Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044 and the Sons of American Legion Squadron of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 in Crisfield.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Becky Tyler of Crisfield; his father, Homer D. Tyler, Sr. of Crisfield; his brother, Lee Tyler and his wife Missy of Ewell, Smith Island; his sister, Dawn Marsh of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Julie Laird and her husband Randy Laird, III and their son Randy Laird IV of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Michelle Davis of Marion Station; and three nephews, Jamie and Kyle Tyler and Scottie Marsh.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park near Crisfield.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Tawes Nursing Home Building Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.
