Hillary James Justice, 83, of Crisfield and formerly of Snow Hill, MD and Greenbackville, VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. He had been making his home in Crisfield for the past two years.

Born in Greenbackville on July 8, 1940, he was the only child of the late Lawson J. Justice and Annie Florence Sharpley Justice. His wife of 31 years, Iva Jane Marshall Justice, preceded him in death on December 7, 2012.

He was a 1959 graduate of Atlantic High School in Oak Hall, VA, and a US Army transportation company veteran stationed in Germany serving from 1960-1963.

He was a pressman for the former Moore Business Forms in Snow Hill, MD working almost 25 years until their closing in 1994.  He was also a past employee of WBEY Bay Country Radio Station.

He was a devoted member of Union United Methodist Church in Greenbackville since his youth and over the years served in numerous capacities including trustee, sound tech, long-time member of the Administrative Council, and member and trustee of the Greenbackville Cemetery Corporation committee. He was also a lifetime member of the Greenbackville Volunteer Fire Department joining in 1963 and served as Past Chief Engineer for many years. He was very active in Boy Scouts Troop #157 in his youth as well.

Hillary loved electronics and sound systems and was an avid HAM radio operator. He also enjoyed watching Television.  He was very devoted to his family and friends.

He is survived by his only child, Brian Carroll Justice and his wife Christina of Marion Station, MD; three step-daughters, Laura Miller of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Tami Bennette and her husband Daniel of Arnold, MD, and Jennifer Aeschbacker and her husband Tom of Willis, MI; grandchildren, Ashley Karr, Hunter Aeschbacker, Violet Bennette, and Logan Aeschbacker; one great-grandchild, Jesse James Lee; special cousins, Tom Sharpley and his wife Vicky of Virginia Beach, VA; and a host of other extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Greenbackville Volunteer Fire Department Banquet Hall, 1468 Ellis Street, Greenbackville, VA 23356. The service will be officiated by Pastor Brenda Laws and Pastor Jerry Hughes.

Interment will be private.
