Helen Gertrude "Trudy" Costello, 77, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 from her home.

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on March 23, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Albert L. and Kathryn A. Groff.  She had been making her home in Crisfield for the past 31 years.

She was a graduate of Haverford High School and continued her education after raising her son at Delaware County Community College where she obtained an Associate's Degree in early childhood education.

She had a passion for working with children and for 22 years worked as an early childhood home visitor for Healthy Families Lower Shore.  She loved to help people and touched the lives of several generations of children that she visited and cared for.

Trudy was a talented crafter, especially fabric arts.  She loved quilting, hand spinning, and embroidery to name a few.  She also entered and won the Somerset County Daffodil Show in the early 1990's.  She enjoyed attending Mariners United Methodist Church.

No one who met Trudy forgot her.  She was always full of joy and goodness and faith.

She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Patrick "Pat" Costello, Jr., and her son, Joseph "Patrick" Costello, III, both of Crisfield.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 12-4pm at the Janes Island State Park Conference Center.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to Healthy Families Lower Shore, 30519 Prince William Street, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
