Helen L. Kirkbride, 93, of Canton, Ohio, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke City, Maryland. She had been making her home in Crisfield, Maryland for the past year.
Born in Summitville, Ohio on March 5, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Filomena) Dangelo Carlone.
She graduated with honors from Summitville High School in Canton and furthered her education at Canton Business College where she excelled in accounting. She was an accountant working for American Electric Power until her retirement in 1984.
She was a life-long member of Perry Christian Church in Canton where she was active in the Canton Crusaders Bible Study Class. She also volunteered at Canton Christian Home and was a member of Lake Cable Garden Club. She was a kind and spiritual person who enjoyed cooking and gardening but the love of her life was her family.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Junior "Gene" Kirkbride; two daughters, Kathleen Garton and husband David of Crisfield and Susan Dahn and husband Tom of Barnegat, New Jersey; a sister, Mary Carlone Watson of Canton; three grandchildren, Kristina Gaylor and husband Wes of Clifton Heights, PA, Heather Brandt and husband Mike of York, PA and Jeffery Dahn of Hawaii; three great-granddaughters, Isabella and Boden Brandt and Scarlette Dahn; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Biaggio Carlone, Anthony Carlone, Joseph Carlone, Angela Petrullo, Margaret McCullough, Frances "Dolly" Stephanic, and Ann Deem.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
