Harvey Daniel Tyler, 70, of Pocomoke City, died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield November 8, 1944, he was a son of the late William Hance and Agnes Johnson Tyler.
A graduate of Crisfield High School, he worked for Safeway for 20 years, was a security guard at Wallops Flight Facility, and later retired from a contract job on Wallops.
Harvey was a US Army Vietnam veteran, past treasurer of the Crisfield Wesleyan Church where he was a member, and was past president of Pocomoke T-Ball.
His passions were canoeing, crabbing, and just exploring the waterways and enjoying God's creations.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Landon Tyler; four children, Mary Mullins and husband Bryan of Ocean City, Mark Tyler and wife Jodi of Salisbury, Matthew Tyler of Pocomoke City, and Michael Tyler of Baltimore; three sisters, Ruth Hennigan of Baltimore, Sarah Chisholm of Pocomoke City, and Esther Friedel of Seaford, DE; three grandchildren, Dayna Tyler, Sophia Tyler, and Noah Tyler, all of Salisbury. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Tyler and Bill Tyler, and a nephew, Paul Tyler, Jr.
Graveside services with the Rev. Bob Daniels officiating will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 12 noon at Sunnyridge Memorial Park. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crisfield Wesleyan Church, 3065 Lawsonia Road, Crisfield, MD 21817.
