Harriet "Hattie" D. Miller Figgs, 71, of Marion Station, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Wilmington, DE on April 7, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Raymond F. Miller, Sr. and Eleanor Beatson Miller. Her husband, James L. Figgs, Sr. preceded her in death on November 4, 1997.
Hattie was a graduate of Wilmington High School and was a former factory worker before she suffered an injury. She loved cooking, shopping and arts & crafts, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends, especially her children. She also had a great love of nature and for dogs, and is survived by her current precious dog, "Little Man". Additionally, she enjoyed volunteering and fund raising efforts in support of the Crisfield Cat Shelter. Her kindness and generosity will truly be missed by the Crisfield Community.
She is survived by her son, Michael J. Figgs of Westover; daughter, Sharon Caruso and husband James of Newark, DE; partner, Robert Betteker of Marion Station; step-children, Claude Figgs and Robert Figgs; sister, Mary DuBois and husband Jay of Elmer, NJ; sisters-in-law, Janice Miller of Wilmington, DE and Carol Miller of Federalsburg, MD; grandchildren, Jeffrey Galvin, Rebecca Galvin, Dawn Sheehan, Dennis Sheehan, and James L. Figgs, IV; many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephew.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond F. Miller, Jr., Thomas Miller, Bobby Miller, and Harry Miller; and her step-children, James L. Figgs, Jr. and Darlene Matson; and her grandson, David Sheehan.
A celebration of her life will be held at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11 AM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
