Harold Doc Sterling, 68, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at McCready Health.
Born in Crisfield April 29, 1948, he was a son of the late Harold Elwood "Doc" Sterling and Mary Frances Crockett Sterling.
He was a graduate of James M. Bennett High School, and obtained a degree in business from Woodbridge Business Institute. He also obtained a B.S. in Theology from the Christian World College of Theology. He worked locally at Lower Shore Enterprises and at Watermen's Inn Restaurant.
The Lord always came first in his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church and also enjoyed the Crisfield Church of God Thursday night prayer group and Nursing Home ministry. He faithfully studied the Bible and cherished talking to people about God. He also loved listening to 50's music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Cynthia "Tutti" Sterling of Crisfield; his brother, Mike Bo Sterling of Crisfield; nieces and nephews, Lynda Warner and husband Mike of Woodlands, TX, Eugene "Sparky" Ward, Jr., and wife Jessica of Traverse City, Michigan, Gretchen Fritz of Pocomoke City, Jody Matthews and husband Lenny of Norfolk, VA, and Shawn Landon of Crisfield; his great-nieces, Autumn, Sarah and Shannon Fritz, Sabrina Warner, Erin and Ashleigh Ward, and Sara Chandler; his aunt, Bette Crockett of Crisfield; his cousins, Karen "Janie" Dryden, Brenda Wooster and Shirley Greene, all of Crisfield; and his very special friends, Pastor Jack "Tad" and Maria Maroon, Kevin Evans, Kenny G. Evans, and the late Tommy Parkinson, all of Crisfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loni Landon in 2015.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church in Crisfield where the family will receive friends one hour prior. The Reverends Jack "Tad" Maroon and Kevin Evans will officiate.
