Obituary

HAROLD GEORGE LINDALE, 79, of Crisfield since 1954 and formerly of Harrington, Delaware, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at his home.

Born in Fredericka, Delaware on July 29, 1927, he was the son of the late George Edward and Ruth Reynolds Lindale.

A retired Trouble In Service employee with Delmarva Power, he was a member of Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield, Chesapeake Masonic Lodge #147 AF & AM where he was Past Master for many years, the former Chesapeake Chapter #28 Order of Eastern Star where he was Past Patron, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Boumi Temple, and the Somerset County Chapter of AARP.

He was an avid camper, and enjoyed volunteering and helping others.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Aptt Lindale of Crisfield; two children, Jean L. Service and her husband Tom of St. Petersburg, Florida and Mike Lindale and his wife Debbie of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four grandchildren, Dawn Martin, Jennifer Service, Michael Lindale and Matthew Lindale; two great-granddaughters, Mikayla King and Gracie Martin; one sister, Virginia Clendaniel and her husband Calvin of Lincoln, Delaware; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Lindale.

Funeral services and a Masonic Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 11 AM at Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield. The Rev's. Steve Willing and Charles Adams will officiate, and the Rev. Tom Blakelock will give the eulogy. There will be no public viewing, however, the family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Interment will take place at 3 PM in Milford Community Cemetery in Milford, Delaware with the Rev. Earl Baker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, Maryland 21802-1733.
