Hammond Revelle Betts, III, 36 passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home in Belton, South Carolina.

Born October 27, 1981, he was the son of the late Hammond Revelle Betts, Jr. and the late Ramona "Rona" Burke Betts.

Hammond, "Butchie", as he was affectionately called, was a very talented mechanic who could fix just about anything. He had a big heart and loved helping family and friends. He would have given the shirt off his back if he thought someone else needed it. He loved spending time with his fiancé, family, friends and his pets. He was passionate about his acoustic guitar. Playing it gave him a lot of joy and peace. He loved spending time outdoors taking walks in the woods enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

He is survived by a sister, Myra Betts Baker (Donnie), a brother Charles "Chuckie" Betts, a nephew, Owen Baker and his grandmother Elmira Goldsborough Ford, all of Crisfield and his fiancé, Tammy Scott of Belton, SC. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his dog, Coco and cat, Kitty Sue whom he loved.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents and a sister, Nikki Betts.

Memorial services will be held at the Crisfield Wesleyan Church on March 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. Rev. Bob Daniels and Rev. John Thorne will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.
