Gregory Dale “Greg” Brown, 61, of Tangier Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughter, Carolyn Marie, mother, Edna, and partner, Jamie Lynn on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield, MD, on March 16, 1965, he was the son of Edna J. Wheatley Brown of Tangier Island and the late William Edward Brown, Sr.

Greg was a lifelong Waterman and a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed taking photographs, listening to music, and playing his guitar, finding happiness in the things he loved most.

In addition to his mother, Edna; he is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Marie Brown; his granddaughter, Essence Brown; his two brothers, Billy Brown and Mike Brown; his partner, Jamie Lynn Parks; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, with Pastor Chuck Parks and Elder Duane Crockett officiating.
