Obituary

Grace Mae Adams Riggin, 83, also known as "Peg" to her late husband; "Peggy" to her family and friends; "Grace" to many; "Miss Grace" to all her family at Manokin Manor; "Mom-Peg" to a few; "Mom" to three; "Granmom" to ten; and most importantly, "Child" to the Father, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne.

She was born May 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John T. Adams of Marion Station and the granddaughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Irving Thomas Adams, also of Marion Station.

To reflect her character: "To live is Christ and to die is gain", we, her sons, announce this time of celebration for our Mom. She married our Dad, Earl "Toots" Riggin, in Normandy, France. They remained married for 56 years until his death in 2000. She was firstly a child of the King, secondly, wife to "Toots", and thirdly, "Mom" to Phil, Barry, and Bruce.

Mom was retired from the Rubberset Company in Crisfield, and was a faithful member of the Crisfield Church of God. She was named appropriately (Isn't it amazing how God knows us, even prior to our conception in the womb?) by being named "Grace". She carried herself with a unique "grace", and left this world in the same manner. She was especially gifted with a magnificent calligraphy and heart of exhortation. The Lord used this elegant penmanship and compassion of heart, in a card of ministry that would eventually touch hundreds of lives, "at just the right time".

As noted, she has three sons and ten "grankids". The grandchildren are: Tammy, Billy, David, Matthew, Brandon, Bruce Wayne, Ashley, April, Blake, and Samuel.

Other than our father and grandparents, she was preceded in life-after-death by her oldest brother, Irving Adams, and an older brother Tommy Adams. She is survived by her youngest brother, David Adams of Crisfield.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Crisfield Church of God with Pastor LeBron Palmer and Rev. Harvey Tyler officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield Thursday from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M.
