Gloria "Fay" Ford, 79, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at her home.
Born in Crisfield on October 30, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Karey Weldon and Helen S. Crockett Evans. Her husband, Robert E. "Bobby" Ford, died March 18, 2009.
Fay worked several jobs including a cook, a seafood worker for Handy's, a seamstress at local clothing factories, and also worked at the former Carvel Hall Cutlery. She was a member of Living Hope Ministries of the Eastern Shore in Crisfield. She enjoyed needlework, and was very home and family oriented.
She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Carroll Sturgis; three grandchildren, Jessica Koltuk, Kristina Sturgis and Robert Sturgis; a brother, Jerry Evans and wife Myrna; a niece, Tonya Howell and husband Rick and their daughter Kaleigh; sisters-in-law, Lula Mae Dize, and Joan Lawson and husband Tutsie; brother-in-law, Jackie Ford and wife Dottie; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, William "Sonny" Ford.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Lebron Palmer will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested to be sent to Living Hope Ministries of the Eastern Shore, 1101 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
