Glen Walker "Fergy" Ferguson, 91, of Crisfield, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Pocomoke City.
Born in Rochester, New York on March 6, 1923, he was a son of the late Fred and Margaret Falls Stuart McCall Ferguson. He had been making his home in Crisfield for the past 20 years. Prior, he lived in Lititz, Pennsylvania for 24 years, and also Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia.
He was self-employed in the tire business for 67 years, having had stores in Houston, TX, Norfolk, VA, Virginia Beach, VA, Downtown Clay, PA, and Crisfield, MD. He was a US Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was an animal lover but especially loved his many cats, and was an active and supporting member of the Humane Society of Somerset County. He was also a former member of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044, Ephrata Elks Lodge #1933, American Legion Post #429 in Ephrata, and was one of the last remaining members of Kappa Psi Sigma Fraternity of 1939 Rochester, NY.
Tires were his life, and he will be long remembered for his humor and his kind ways.
A devoted husband, he is survived by his loving wife of almost 38 years, Phoebe Ferguson of Crisfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Beatrice Ferguson of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time, but donations in memory of Fergy may be made to the Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 493, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
