Gladys C. "Happy" Wright, of Middleport, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Medina. Born October 27, 1920 in Crisfield, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Stewart) Reckord. A US Army Veteran, she served during World War II. She was employed by Sigma Motor, as an executive secretary, for over thirty years. Happy was a resident of Middleport since 1946. She was a communicant at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen's RC Church, a member of Clute Phillips Post #938, American Legion and its Ladies Auxiliary, and a member and Past President of the Senior Citizens of Western Orleans. She enjoyed travelling. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy (Duane) Johnson of Middleport and her grandson, DJ Johnson of Rochester. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Wright, in 1988. Friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen's Church at 10AM celebrated by The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medina, where military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion. Memorials may be made to Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, or a charity of ones choice.
