George P. Taylor, Sr., 76, of Girdletree, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Crisfield on October 18, 1948, he was a son of the late Stanley and Rose E. Myers Taylor.

He was a waterman for many years and was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

Deeply loved and missed by his family, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Hester "Ann" Tubbs Taylor of Girdletree; five children, George P. Taylor, Jr. of Crisfield, Natalie Taylor Diggs (C.J.) of Pocomoke, George A. Taylor (Dixie) of Greenbackville, VA, Christina L. Taylor of Snow Hill, and Shawn Davis of Arkansas; 18 grandchildren, Sean Phillip Sutton, Jonathon Taylor, Gabriella Taylor, Natalie Renee Parks, Christopher Diggs, Jr., Kaylynn Taylor, Bambi Taylor, Noelle Marshall, Nicolaus Marshall, Annalise Marshall, Austin Marshall, Susanna Allen, Elaina Allen, Gabriel Davis, Shonna Davis, Logan Davis, C.J. Davis, and Madison Davis; four great-grandchildren, Naomi Sutton, Noa Sutton, Jonathon Taylor, Jr., and Gracelyn Diggs; his siblings, Jackie E. Taylor (Julia) of Princess Anne, Rose Taylor McCartan (Lee) of Corapolis, PA, and Nancy L. Lewis (Terry) of NC; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Oakland Carter Taylor in 2016; his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley Taylor, Jr. and Shirley Taylor; and his brother, Frankie Taylor.

A graveside funeral service will be Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11 AM at the Somerset Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 27002 Cash Corner Road, Crisfield, MD.  Pastor Ken Elligson will officiate.
