Obituary

George Edward Milbert, 69, of Crisfield and formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at McCready Memorial Hospital.

Born in Newark, New Jersey on July 9, 1948, he was the only child of the late Edward and Elizabeth Carter Milbert.

He was an art teacher in Baltimore County working 33 years before his retirement. He retired to Crisfield in 2007 and immediately felt like he was "home".

A member of the Crisfield Library Board, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, going to auctions, and music. He was a musician in many bands in the Baltimore area since the age of 15.  He also adored his beloved pet dogs "Kallie" and "Klee".

George will be missed dearly by his many special friends and neighbors in the Crisfield community and in Baltimore.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Bonnie Brower Milbert of Crisfield; his son, Tyson Milbert and wife Jenn Milbert of Bluffton, SC; his daughter, April Milbert and husband Scott Davis of Pocomoke City; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Milbert, Brandon Milbert, Ashton Milbert, Ryan Davis, Sarah Davis, and a special grandson, Maxwell Davis; his sisters-in-law, Alberta Brower of Crisfield and Pam Duty and husband Bob Duty of Amherst, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Friends and family are encouraged to share their favorite memories of George.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are requested to be sent to the Humane Society of Somerset County, Maryland, P.O. Box 493, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
