George Thomas Marshall, III, 74, of Crisfield, died Saturday, November 6, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born in Crisfield on December 2, 1946, he was the son of the late George Thomas Marshall, Jr. and Dorothy Lee Riggin Marshall.

George was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1964 and earned his bachelor's degree in 1974 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.  He was a general contractor and worked in building supply services.  He also was a substitute teacher for Somerset County Public Schools.

A US Air Force Vietnam veteran, he was a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion and was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield.

He was an excellent drummer and played in many bands throughout his life.  George was also an avid basketball fan and was rarely seen without his Duke hat.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bea Marshall; his daughter, Kendra (Jamie); brother, Larry Marshall (Sandy); and grandchildren, Ethan, Paige, and Cameron Payne. He is also survived by his extended family, Marge, Mike, Evan, Carley, and Will Maher of Philadelphia; special nieces, Alicia Baucom (Bill) of Durham, NC; Lori Mrohs (Mike) of Salisbury, and Terri Scott (David) of Severn, MD; nephew, Jeff Marshall of Raleigh, NC; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one uncle, and many special friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katina Leigh Marshall on July 7, 2009; and his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Roger Tull.

A graveside funeral service and interment with military honors will be Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 2 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park.  Speakers will be Glenn Evans and Marge Maher.
