Obituary
GEORGE STEVENSON GROOM, 68, of Westover and formerly of Baltimore, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his home.
Born in Towson on May 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Dawson Thomas Groom and Elizabeth Stevenson Stoakes Kellogg Groom. He had been making his home in Westover since 2001.
He was an estimator and enjoyed fishing and sailing.
He is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Brenda Lee Turnbaugh Groom of Westover; two daughters, Mary Shannon and her partner Heidi Houck of Baltimore and Dawn Rebecca Blinson and her husband Christopher of Gloversville, NY; four grandchildren, Joshua Dalton Groom-Audia, Tessa Elizabeth Blinson, Rhiannon Faith Blinson, and Tristan Daniel Blinson; two brothers, Hall Kellogg and Tom Groom; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Ann Blake.
Memorial services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 3 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Jeffery Odom will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be sent to Tilghman Watermen's Museum, P.O. Box 344, Tilghman, MD 21671.
