Obituary

George Theodore Griffith, 93, of Crisfield, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Harrison House, Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born in Ohio on December 31, 1918, he was a son of the late George A. and Bertha Griffith. His wife, Josephine A. Stoy Griffith, preceded him in death on November 1, 2011. He had been making his home in Crisfield since 2002.

A United States Army World War II veteran, he was a retired inspector for Kelsey-Hayes auto parts manufacturer.

He was a member of Martin Luther Chapel in Pennsauken, New Jersey. For many years, he enjoyed fixing bikes and giving them to children who didn't have them. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Mona Griffith of Crisfield; two granddaughters, Jennifer Corley and her husband Tony of Douglasville, PA and Eileen Marusch and her husband Joseph of Winslow Township, NJ; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Corley and Amanda Marusch.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, John T. "Jack" Griffith on September 16, 2011; and two brothers, Kenny and Harold Griffith.

A celebration of the lives of George and Josephine will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:30AM at Martin Luther Chapel in Pennsauken, New Jersey with urn burial to follow in White Marsh Cemetery in Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Harrison House Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation, 430 West Market Street, Snow Hill, MD 21863.
