Obituary
George William Gaston, 88, of Crisfield, and formerly of York County, PA, died Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home.
Born in York County, PA on August 17, 1927, he was a son of the late Edgar and Sarah Campbell Gaston. He had been making his home in Crisfield sine 1997.
He obtained his B.S. Degree from Rutgers University and was a retired accountant controller. He was also a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
A member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in Crisfield, he loved animals, boating, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Thelma E. Gaston of Crisfield; a son, Colby T. Gaston of Scranton, PA; four step-children, Vanessa Adams of Ocean Pines, MD, Theresa Thoene of St. Louis, Richard Lovett of Parsonsburg, MD, and Phillip Jones of Salisbury, MD; a brother, Edgar Gaston of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Tabitha, Arley, and Jed; six great-grandchildren, Savanna, Emily, Christina, Ashley, Rebecca, and Anni; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendoline Taylor Gaston in 2000; a son, Ashley C. Gaston in 2000; a brother, Robert Gaston; and a sister, Helene Miller.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate.
