Obituary

Frederick G. "Fred" Marshall, 89, of Tylerton, Smith Island, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield November 14, 1925, he was a son of the late Todd and Margaret Evans Marshall. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Bradshaw Marshall, and his second wife, Norma Tyler Marshall.

A retired waterman and a US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Union United Methodist Church on Tylerton, Tylerton Lions Club, the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield, and the Watermen's Association. He loved singing and traveling all around the area with the Smith Island Men's Quartet. He also enjoyed carving and woodworking.

He is survived by four children, Carolyn Evans and husband Muggsy of Crisfield, Russell Marshall and partner Tom Walker of Harwood, MD, Phil Marshall and wife Cindy of Crisfield, and Dallas Marshall and wife Laurie of Marion; four step-daughters, Sandy Thomas, Marilyn Brimer, and Becky Tyler of Crisfield, and Tina Corbin and husband Ronnie of Tylerton; a sister, Diane Bromley of Eden; eleven grandchildren, Troy Evans and wife Carla, Anita Evans, Jody Soukup and husband Kevin, Brittany Marshall, Storm Marshall, Julie Laird, Chris Owens, Marsha Melvin, Taylor Corbin, Lenny Evans, Jr., and Darrenn Evans; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Whitt and Mina Laird; a brother, Larry Marshall; a step-son, Lenny Evans; and three step sons-in-law, Spry Thomas, Clifton Brimer, and Homer Tyler; brothers in law, Ronald Laird, Francis Bromley, and Lou Witt.

Funeral services officiated by the Reverends Rick Edmund and Stephen Willing will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2 PM at Union U. M. Church on Tylerton. A viewing will be Thursday from 10-11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Union Church Cemetery.

There will be a special boat, the "Capt. Jason", leaving the city dock on Friday, April 3rd at 12 noon.
