IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank Thomas
"Tommy" Daniels, Sr.
September 28, 1946 – July 12, 2023
Frank Thomas "Tommy" Daniels, Sr., a friend to many in our small community, passed away at the age of 76 on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
Known for his kind heart, artistic talent, deep understanding of local watercraft, and his memorable sense of humor, Tommy leaves behind a legacy that will bring a smile to our faces as we remember him.
Tommy, a true "Daniels," was born and raised in Wenona, MD, a son of the late Frank Brown Daniels and Ella Shores Daniels. Known for his lively banter and love of a good joke, he could always be counted on to bring laughter into any room.
During his younger years, Tommy showed great athletic ability, shining in baseball and basketball. This passion for sports didn't fade over time, as he remained a fan of both games throughout his life.
Tommy had a special connection with the water, spending countless hours fishing and netting for crabs. His craftsmanship was truly remarkable, displayed in the many workboats and skipjacks he repaired for the local watermen, marking a significant contribution to our community.
His artistic touch was evident in his numerous paintings of waterfowl, workboats, and skipjacks, and his meticulous carvings and models of local boats were truly treasured keepsakes. Generosity was another one of Tommy's trademarks. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. His love for his family was unwavering, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren.
Tommy's absence will be deeply felt by all of us. His laughter, his stories, his artistry, and the spirit of fun he brought into our lives will be forever remembered.
He is survived by his sister whom he was always there to take care of, Emma Kay Daniels; four sons, Frank Thomas Daniels, Jr. and wife Angie, Robert Daniels, Shane Daniels and wife Erin, and Aaron Daniels; his cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Daniels, and Ava and Chloe Daniels; as well as many special nieces and nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Barney "Bunky" Evans, Earl Daniels, Fred Daniels, Norman Benton, William "Spooky" Benton, Audrey Benton, Joan Townsend, Anna Ruth Curtis Webster, and Myrtle Daniels Bransford.
