Francis B. Parks, 75, of Crisfield, and formerly of Rhodes Point, Smith Island, died on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born on Tangier, VA, he was the son of the late Warner A. Parks and Estha Lee Crockett Parks. He was a waterman and served in the U.S. Marines. His wife, Jane E. Parks died October 22, 2003.
Francis was a waterman and served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church on Rhodes Point, and the V.F.W. Post # 8274 in Crisfield
Surviving are 7 children, Johnnie Parks of Virginia, Michael Parks, Francis "Hoss" Parks, Jr., and Cynthia Bradshaw, all of Smith Island, Vanessa Parks of Marion Station, Geneva Barnes of Seaford, DE, and William Parks of Bridgeville, DE.; one brother, Harry Parks of Hampton, VA; three sisters, Bertha Smith of Crisfield, Winnie Higgins of Silver Spring, and Erlene Taylor of Tasley, VA. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
