FRANCES B. WINTERLING, 88, of Salisbury and formerly of Crisfield, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at her home in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on May 3, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Hazel Tull McNamara. Her first husband, Merrill Byrd, died in 1975, and her second husband, William F. Winterling, died in 2001. She had been making her home in Salisbury for the past 20 years.
She was a retired licensed practical nurse, working for the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield and Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and the former Chesapeake Chapter #28 Order of Eastern Star, both of Crisfield.
She is survived by one niece, Ellen Tuck of Newport News, Virginia; three cousins, Elodie Beale of Salisbury, Mary Ann Crawmer of Westminster, Maryland and Kathleen Burton of Berlin.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Reginald McNamara, Sr., Albert F. McNamara and Warren H. McNamara; and one sister, Louise McNamara.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Joel Byler will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park near Crisfield.
