Frances Pruitt Marsh, 75, of Crisfield and formerly of Tylerton, Smith Island, beloved wife, mother, and sister, went home to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, March 23, 2013. She died quietly surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born on Tangier Island, Virginia May 19, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Clifton M. and Rita A. Crockett Pruitt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Fellowship Assembly of God Chruch in Crisfield. While on Tylerton, she was a member of Union Memorial United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women.
Frances will long be remembered for her kindness and her quiet, gentle spirit. Her greatest joy was preparing a meal consisting of all the favorites of her children when they were all together. That gift of giving of herself went on to bless many, old and young alike and was her greatest witness of God's love. It was often said, "Does she love you like Frances loves Charlie?" Many people have hoped for this kind of love. We, her family, were blessed to have known this love.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charlie Marsh of Crisfield; her children, Cathy Marsh and Connie of Sykesville, Lori Jamison and Raph of Salisbury, Gayle Carey and Charlie of Salisbury, and Chuck Marsh of Crisfield; a daughter-in-law, Susan Marsh of Pocomoke; her sister and brother, Catherine Bradshaw and Dallas and Warren Ray Pruitt and Diane, all of Crisfield; her sister-in-law, Mary Pruitt of Crisfield; seven grandchildren, Josh English, Amanda English, Aaron Carey, Charlie Carey, III, Chuck Taylor, Brad Taylor, and Buck Jamison; and many special nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Samuel P. Marsh in 2005; two brothers, Stanley M. Pruitt in 2010 and Charles Freddie Pruitt in 2013; and a grandson, Jordan Carey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon at Faith Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastors Richard Bradford and Steve Willing will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733 or Faith Fellowship Assembly of God, 26950 Plantation Road, Crisfield, MD 21817.
