Florine Elizabeth McCready, 88, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Hallwood, Virginia on July 23, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Harold Twigg and Virgie Stant.

She was a dietician at the Tawes Nursing Home for 23 years and worked prior at the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchens. A member of the First Baptist Church in Crisfield, she enjoyed working in the kitchen for church events. She was also past president of the VFW Post #8274 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cleaning her house, gardening, cutting grass, and working in her yard.

She is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Jerry W. McCready of Crisfield; two sons, Gary Hale of Derwood, MD and C.C. Mariner of Crisfield; a sister-in-law, Iola Isdell of Marion; a brother-in-law, Donald McCready of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Jerry W. McCready, Jr. on July 31, 1962; and two sisters, Louise Bailey and Goldie Hart.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior. Pastors Tad Maroon and Todd Hurley will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
