Felton Douglas "Doug" Swift, 64, of Crisfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Born in Crisfield on August 11, 1957, he was a son of the late Ralph Alfred Swift and the late Sarah Frances Sterling Swift.

Doug was affectionately known as Crisfield's "Town Icon"; he knew and loved everybody and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  Doug had a special love for the Crisfield Fire Department and always found a way to every fire scene to help in any way that he could.  He was proud to have been presented with a CFD badge and honorary membership shortly before he died.  He also loved the Crab Derby and enjoyed dressing up for the parade as Smokey the Bear and riding on the fire truck.  Doug had a good heart, he never met a stranger, and loved everyone. He will be greatly missed by the entire Crisfield community.

Surviving are his siblings, Jerry Swift and wife Betty of Springfield, VA, Wayne Swift of Salisbury, Mary McCready, Gayle Dorman and her husband David Dee, all of Crisfield, Patricia Baxter of Fredericksburg, VA, and Bonnie Odom and husband Andy of Summerville, SC; step-mother, Fran Swift of Salisbury; aunt, Judy Evans of Marion Station; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph E. Swift.

Funeral services will be held at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 2 PM with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Rev. Stephen S. Willing will officiate and interment will follow at Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
