Evelyn Verdiramo, 83, of Chincoteague, VA, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Crisfield, MD.
Born in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Roscoe.
Her husband, Angelo, had died in 1989.
Evelyn was a vocalist with the Tommy Dorsey and the Jimmy Dorsey bands.
A fourth generation folk artist, Evelyn was noted for her egg decoration and decoupage. Her artwork had been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, The Beacon and various other publications.
Evelyn had appeared on Good Morning America with John Bartholomew Tucker and had been a guest on the Gloria DeHaven Show.
She was a member of Saint Andrew Church, Chincoteague, VA.
Surviving are three daughters, Teresa Aicher and her husband Ralph of Belvidere, Lyn Shepherd and her husband Stephen of Flemington, and Lori Verdiramo of Bridgewater; two granddaughters, Tyler Shepherd of London, England and Lyndsey Shepherd of Flemington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her memory to the American Lung Association 1600 Route 22, Union, NJ 07083 or North Shore Animal League America 25 Davis Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050.
Local arrangements were in the care of Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.
