EULA CROCKETT, 73, of Tangier Island, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at her home.
Born March 3, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Elmer B. and Susie Laird Parks.
She was Valedictorian of her class at Tangier High School and worked many years as the custodian of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member. She also was a clerk at the former Williams and Wheatley Grocery Store.
She is survived by her husband, Strickland Crockett; a son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Charlene Crockett; all of Tangier; two granddaughters, Nicole Wheatley of Onancock and Marissa Crockett of Tangier; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Parks; and two sisters, Ruth Crockett and Nannie Pruitt.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier. The Rev. Patricia Stover, Mr. Bill Pruitt, and Miss Ella Crockett will officiate. Interment will be in the Crockett Family Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-8PM at Swain Memorial U. M. Church.
