Ethel Mae Nelson, 87, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born in Marion Station, MD on November 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Edward Warren Marshall and Dorothy Catherine Linton Marshall. Her husband of 57 years, Emory Nelson, Jr., preceded her in death December 13, 2006.

She worked many years making crab pots for the former John Somers Crab Pots in Crisfield. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was very devoted to her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Marian C. "Chrissy" Sneade of Crisfield; her son, William L. "Dumplin" Nelson of Crisfield; three grandchildren, David M. "Matt" Sneade and wife April, Mark N. Sneade, and Kristen M. Sneade, all of Crisfield; and her great-grandchildren, Mark Holthaus, David Sneade, Jr., Mariah Sneade, Jayden Reifler, Haley Carmean, and Canaan Sneade.

Along with her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Granville Marshall, John Marshall, Mildred Brittingham, Hazel Tyler and Dorothy "Tinker" Marshall.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Sumner Jones will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11 AM at Asbury United Methodist Church where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment in Asbury Cemetery will be at a later date.
