Ernestine "Frances" Irwin

Ernestine "Frances" Irwin, 76, of Crisfield, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Wilmington, DE on February 27, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Luke and Marguerite Bruce Goodyear.  Her husband, Robert Irwin, preceded her in death in 2003.

She loved her children and grandchildren immensely. 

She is survived by two sons, Jeremiah Irwin and Richard Simpson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Valor and Vermeer Hill, and Richie Simpson, III; a great-grandson, Richard Simpson, IV; a sister, Sandy Rively and husband Ken; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her companion, John Trotto in 2025; and her brother and sisters, Zeb Goodyear, Marie Glover, Eva White, Helen Drennen, and Thelma Coleman.

A graveside service and entombment will be Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12PM at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.
