Ernest Linwood "Buddy" Jones, Jr., 82, of Crisfield, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Crisfield on September 12, 1930, he was a son of the late Ernest Linwood "Lenny" and Margaret Tucker Jones.
A veteran of the Army National Guard, Buddy was a waterman, carpenter, auto mechanic and boat builder. He was a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church and enjoyed building model boats.
He is survived by his former wife and good friend, Gladys Adkins; three children, Debbie, Chippy and Janice; grandchildren, Lisa Sterling, Chuck and Maria Nelson, Sam Jones, Ernie Jones, Shane Jones, Debbie Ann and Kenny Dennis, and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Noah Nelson, Dustin Price, Tabatha Jones, Pal Somers, Brian Somers, and Logan Somers; sister, Margaret Holland and husband Paul; brother-in-law, James Elliott; and his niece and nephews, Barbara and Raymond Godwin, Johnny Holland, and Paul Edward Holland.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Samuel and Marylynette; sisters and brother, Mary Slatcher, Florence Sterling, Robert Jones, Isabell Jones, and Annie Jones; and a niece, Grace.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2 PM in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. The Rev. Terry Riggin will officiate.
