Ellen Lorna Olsson Reed, 90, of Crisfield, MD died Tuesday, January 3, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

She was born in Melbourne, Australia, daughter of the late Herbert Olaf Olsson and Elizabeth Marion Olsson.

Preceding and during WWII, Ellen worked as secretary to the director of the Wool Brokers of Australia. In 1946, Jackson R. Reed of Hagerstown, MD, returned to Melbourne after WWII and married Ellen in the Episcopal Church of Ashburton, Melbourne, Australia. Soon after, she traveled with her husband to Hagerstown, MD, raised a family, and later worked for the Washington County Historical Society.

She is predeceased by her husband, Jackson Ronald Reed and her brother Ronald Godan Olsson.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Olsson Reed of Crisfield, MD; two daughters, Carolyn L. Crockett of Westover, MD and Elizabeth E. Koser of McLean, VA; two brothers, Neville and Alan Olsson of Melbourne, Australia; three grandchildren, Lorna Crockett, and Reed and Ray Koser; and numerous nieces and nephews in Australia.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Wil Shertzer will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11 AM at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
