Elizabeth "Bette" Gilbert Stevens, 84, of Marion Station and formerly of Crisfield, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 27, 1927, she was a daughter of the late James and Helen Marsh Gilbert.
A retired secretary for the Somerset County Board of Education, she was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield where she was active in the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Lloyd H. Stevens of Marion Station; a daughter, Gail Massey and her husband Dean of Crisfield; a son, Craig Stevens and his wife Cindy of Marion Station; five grandchildren, Steven Massey, Brian Stevens, Brady Stevens, Neil Stevens, and Kate Stevens; a great-grandson, Alexander Massey; a brother, Harvey Gilbert and his wife Alice of Kunkletown, PA; a sister-in-law, Marsha Gilbert of Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Gilbert; and two sisters, Helen Feltis and Eleanor Price.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Sterling and Pastor Todd Hurley officiating.
