Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Matthews, 97, of the Kingston area of Westover, died Friday, February 12, 2021 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Newark, New Jersey on February 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd T. and Edna Adkins Hosier.  Her husband, Roland Matthews, preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and over the years served as President of the Democratic Club and Business and Professional Women Club.  She also completed a course in interior decorating at Salisbury University which she enjoyed.  She loved her cats "Blackie" and "Rusty" and was a faithful listener of the Immanuel United Methodist Church Radio Ministry.

She is survived by her brother, Alvin B. Hosier; a special neighbor, Noah Bradshaw; her long-time friend, Paul Harrison; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
