Obituary

Edwina Parkinson, 83, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Wicomico Nursing Home.

Born in Wenona on January 12, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Walton and Mae Virginia Daniel Tawes. Her husband of 52 years, Roland Parkinson, died in 2002. She enjoyed working on the water with him.

She was retired from the former Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona and also attended Siloan Church.

Edwina was a blessing to her family. She was a good woman, a good wife, and a good sister, aunt and friend. Her home was always open to everyone, and she especially loved family pool parties, barbeques, hot chocolate and crab cakes. She also enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach.

She is survived by her brother, Larry Tawes, Sr. (Betty) of Salisbury; and her nieces and nephews, Larry Tawes, Jr. (Tina), David Tawes and Walton Tawes, all of Salisbury, Ellen McCary of Hebron, Teresa Smith (Steve) of Chance, Delmas Benton (Vicky) of Fairmount, Clifton Benton (Wanda) of Wenona, Walton Benton (Linda) of Mt. Vernon, Donna White of Chance, Bonnie Muir (Mike) of Princess Anne, Virginia Horner (Charles) of Wenona, Neil Webster (Nancy) of Delaware, Christine Evans, Wally Webster (Vickie) and Tim Webster, all of Westminster, MD and Marion Webster (Cathy) of Deal Island, Jackie Parkinson of Deal Island, and Bruce Parkinson (Patti) of Princess Anne; her step-sister, Emma Daugherty of Crisfield; her companion, Billy Walters of Salisbury; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ella Tawes; two sisters, Olive Donalds and Gloria Benton; and two half brothers, Delmas Webster and David Webster; and a niece, Terry Schevell.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2 PM at St. Paul's U. M. Church in Wenona where a viewing will be held one hour prior. Rev. Danny Travers will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.
