Edwina Pearl Evans, 86, of Ewell, Smith Island, died Saturday, February 26, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born October 4, 1935, she was a lifelong resident of Smith Island and was a daughter of the late Edward Russell Jones and Anna Elizabeth Brimer Jones.

She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Ewell United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW.  She was also a member of the Ewell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the DAR.  She enjoyed traveling, singing, going to the MAC Center, and dinners with family and friends.  She loved being with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Jennings Lee Evans, Sr.; her son, Jennings Lee Evans, Jr. of Salisbury; two sisters, Hester Ann Smith of Tylerton and Helen Faye Bradshaw and husband Clyde Wesley of Ewell; nephews and niece, Alan Lee Smith of Tylerton, Leslie Faye Marsh and husband Donnie of Rhodes Point, and Deacon Smith Hunter of Tylerton; and great-nephews, Daniel Edward Smith and wife Taylor of Tylerton, Dustin Evans Smith of Tylerton, Bobby Gene Smith and wife Kristen of Marion, and Lee Smith and wife Ruth Ann of Tylerton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Preston "Benji" Evans; her brother-in-law, Richard Alan Smith; her nephew, Eddie Russ Smith; and her great-niece, Shelby Faye Marsh.

A funeral service will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2 PM at the Ewell Rec Center.  Pastor Everett Landon will officiate and will be assisted by Pastor Jim Evans.  Viewings will be Friday from 10-11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home and 7-9 PM at the Ewell Rec Center.  Interment will be in the Ewell Church Cemetery.

A special boat for funeral passengers, Chelsea Lane, will depart Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield Saturday at 12 Noon and return following the service.
