Edwin E. "Eddie" Pruitt, 79, of Crisfield, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield March 6, 1934, he was a son of the late Alton W. and India Moore Pruitt.

A graduate of Crisfield High School, Eddie was a Department of Natural Resources Police Officer working 29 years before his retirement. He was also an electrician, US Air Force veteran, and was a member of the Stanley Cochrane American Legion Post #16.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Barbara Pruitt of Crisfield; a son, David Pruitt of Easton; a daughter, Patricia Dennis of Salisbury; a step-daughter, Valerie Gleason of Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Patrick Helgason and Lydia Pruitt, both of Salisbury; three nieces; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Bobby Pruitt; and a sister, Ethel Daugherty.

A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 7 PM at the Crisfield Wesleyan Church, 3071 Lawsonia Road, where the family will receive friends one hour prior. The Rev. Harvey Tyler will officiate.
