EDDIE DEAN MARTIN, 60, of Crisfield, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.
Born in Houston, Mississippi on June 20, 1947, he was the oldest of seven children of the late Charlie and Ida Lee Walston Martin. He had been making his home in Crisfield since 1979, moving from Cleveland, Ohio.
A disabled veteran who served in the US Coast Guard, he was a member of the Walker Memorial Church of God in Princess Anne. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Bessie Marie "Angie" Dugger Martin of Crisfield, whom he married on June 10, 1982; his children, Dana Marshall and husband John of Crisfield, Eddie C. Martin and fiancé Alison Briddell of Deal Island, Charlie Martin of Crisfield, Robert Martin of Ohio, and Wendy Chubb and husband David of Michigan; his grandchildren, Gina Marie Linton, Samantha Nichole Marshall and John Michael Marshall of Crisfield, Christopher Dean Martin of Deal Island, Evan and Savannah Martin of Ohio, and Mattie and April Williams of Michigan; two brothers, Bruce Martin and wife Nancy of Marion and Paul Martin and wife Bonnie of Princess Anne; three sisters, Linda Mister, Shirley Crockett and husband Preston, all of Crisfield and Kathy Byrd and husband Tony of Parsonsburg; a brother-in-law, Clifford Taylor of Crisfield; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Taylor; a brother-in-law, Dallas Woody Mister; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev.'s Tim Shawyer and Matthew Sterling will officiate. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to the Eddie Martin Fund, c/o Dana Marshall, 26368 Burton Avenue, Crisfield, Maryland 21817.
