Obituary
Dottie Murphy Phillips, 73, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.
Born in Crisfield on April 25, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah McCready Murphy. Following the untimely death of her parents, she was raised by her neighbors, Herman "Hungie" and Amelia Ayres. Her husband, Donald W. Phillips, died April 7, 2006.
A 1959 graduate of Crisfield High School, she worked for the State of Maryland for 36 years as a criminal supervisor at the Somerset County Circuit Court.
She was an avid reader who loved all animals, especially her dog "Rambo". She was known for her infectious laugh, and she loved having a good time. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Kevin W. Phillips and his wife Amie of Princess Anne; two grandchildren, Juliana and Adriana; two sisters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Billy Murphy.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1 PM at Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield where the family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1PM. Pastor Christopher Martin will officiate.
