Dorothy Lee Sterling, 92, of Crisfield, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield April 25, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Frank James and Lena Parks Ward. Her husband, Fulton W. Sterling, preceded her in death April 18, 1969.

She was a seamstress at the former Crisfield Cap Factory and a seafood worker at the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchen in Crisfield.

"Dot" or "Dot-Dot", as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, enjoyed BINGO, horse racing, flowers, and gardening. She always loved having company around, and loved to cook dinners for her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Nicholas Sterling (Emma Jane) of Crisfield, Dixie Sterling (Jack) of Snow Hill, Judy Webster (Ted) of Deal Island, Marie Laird of Marion, and Frankie Sterling of Crisfield; a grandson who she helped raise, Frankie Sterling, Jr. of Crisfield; her brothers and sister, Donnie Ward of Denver, Colorado, Tommy Ward of Beltsville, MD, and Gloria Wroten of Crisfield; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Fulton L. Sterling, Jr. in 1998; her sisters and brothers, Melba Byrd, Elenora Dilks, William Ward, Harvey Ward, Frank Ward, and June Price; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Reverends Robert Daniels and Steve Willing will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
