IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy M.
Chiaravalle
November 19, 1939 – June 27, 2021
Dorothy "Dottie" Mae Chiaravalle nee "Sweet Pea Mason" passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland surrounded by her loving family. She fought a courageous battle with Crohn's. Dottie was beloved and she will be dearly missed. We know, however, that when she joined her family and loved ones on the other side it was a long awaited and joyful reunion.
Dottie was born in Crisfield, Maryland on November 19, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Agnes Mason Crockett and Vaughn Mason. I n addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vaughn T. Mason, Jr. and her stepfather, Robert Crockett. She is survived by her loving daughters, Toni (Mike), Theresa (Marty), and Tanya (Margaret), sister, Vonzalee (Bobby), grandchildren, Tim, Shelby (Daniel), Victoria (Noah), Martin, Joshua, great granddaughter, Briar Rose, and several nieces and cousins, as well as three fur grandbabies, MuMu, Waffles and Loki and her special companion, Chewy, her cockatiel.
Dottie's greatest and proudest achievement and joy in life was her adoring family. She was proud of her family (especially her grandchildren), she enjoyed baking (nobody can forget her lemon meringue pies), her garden, taking walks, reading, crocheting (there are many children who are warmer in the winter due to the scarves and hats she donated to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program) and traveling. She always looked forward to decorating at Christmas and Christmas Eve family gatherings to celebrate the holiday and her feast of the Seven Fishes.
A private service will be held on Thursday, July 1.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Dottie's name may be made to Catholic Charities https://secure2.convio.net/ccusa/site/Donation2?2562.donation=form1&df_id=2562&mfc_pref=T&_ga=2.135481137.1823019128.1624895858-469020251.1624895858 or
