Doris Jeanette Clark Stevenson, 89, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at
Friendship Gardens in Berlin.
A lifelong resident of Worcester County, she was born in Taylorville on February 21, 1922 and was the last survivor of Charles Henry Clark, 1866-1946, and Annie Thomas Layton Clark, 1879-1950; the youngest of their 11 children. Her siblings were Ella M. Clark, Elizabeth C. Hall, William H. Clark, Alpha L. Clark, Myrtle L. Clark, Horace James Clark, Mattie C. Hickman, Vivian C. Freeman, Nellie C. Bireley, and Bessie C. Esham. A son, Thomas Hale, died in 1952. Former husband Wm. Hale Stevenson, and two sons in law, Robert E. Davis and Raymond W. Cahen, also predeceased her.
Her survivors include her children, Sharon S. Davidson and husband Dick, Susan S. Cahen, Andrea S. Ullrich and husband John, Denise S. Disharoon and husband Don, Tedman D. Stevenson and wife Debbie. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 11
Great Grandchildren and several step grandchildren.
Mrs. Stevenson was formerly a co-owner and developer of Albatross Motel and
Mobile Home Park and Lake Haven Mobile Home Park. A marvelous cook,
she enjoyed reading, sewing for children and grandchildren, and also teaching
them to play 'rummy'.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Taylorville United Methodist Church in Berlin. Officiating will be the Rev. Walt Crocker assisted by the Rev. Berry McCready. Friends may call at the church one hour before the
service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions in her
memory may be made to Taylorville U. M. Church, PO Box 456, Berlin, Md., 21811.
A reception at the church hall will follow the committal.
