Donna Jean Laird, 67, of Ewell, Smith Island, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in Crisfield on October 16, 1948, she was a daughter of the late John Wilroy Bradshaw and Ruth Virginia Smith Bradshaw. She was a life-long resident of Smith Island.

She was a homemaker and a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1966. She was also a member of Ewell United Methodist Church and was active in the UMW when she was able.

She loved Christmastime, spending time with her family, and in her younger years enjoyed traveling to Harborton, VA to visit with her Aunt Lila.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald Terry Laird; a son, Ronald Terry Laird, Jr., both of Ewell; a daughter, Ruth Ann Smith and husband Lee of Tylerton; a sister, Mary Lou Sterling of York, PA; a niece, Diane McGuire; a nephew, Steven Sterling; two aunts, Peggy Corbin of Tylerton and Lila Marsh of Harborton; and two brothers-in-law, Larry and Tony Laird.

Funeral services officiated by The Rev. Rick Edmund will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2 PM at Ewell United Methodist Church. Viewings will be Thursday from 10-11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home and 7-9 PM at the church on Smith Island. Interment will be in Ewell Church Cemetery.
