DONALD LEE WALSTON, 79, of Crisfield, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at McCready Memorial Hospital.
Born in Crisfield on December 10, 1930, he was a son of the late Walter and Viva Rae Walston.
He was a mechanic who worked more than 20 years at the former Oliphant Chevrolet in Salisbury and at Tawes Brothers in Crisfield for several years. He also worked for himself until his health started failing recently. He especially enjoyed working on transmissions.
A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the VFW Post #8274, American Legion Post #16, Lower Eastern Shore Moose Lodge #2431, and Redmen Lodge Tony Tank Tribe #149. He was an avid shuffleboard player and bowler. He was also affiliated with Asbury U. M. Church in Crisfield.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Rae Cullen of Crisfield and Angela Marie Walston of Princess Anne; three grandchildren, Aaron Garrison, Brian Cullen and Aidan Michael Walston; sisters, Annabelle Parkinson of Crisfield and Anna Thaw of Pocomoke; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Mason; and his half brothers and sister, Wally and Les Walston and Gladys Fin.
Memorial services will be held at a later date with urn interment in the VFW Post #8274 Cemetery.
