Donald James Price, 85, of Princess Anne, died Friday, August 18, 2023 at his home.

Born in Crisfield February 27, 1938 and raised in Marion Station, he was the son of the late Albert and Serena Daugherty Price.

He was a graduate of Marion High School class of 1956 and was a US Army veteran.  He worked at Mountaire for 29 years before his retirement and then owned and operated Big A Auto for 25 years.

Very active in his community, Mr. Price served as Somerset County Commissioner for four years and was a Princess Anne Town Commissioner for four years.  He also spearheaded the Somerset County Garden Tractor Puller's Association and was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church.

Mr. Price was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joy Ward Price of Princess Anne; three children, Donna Bell and husband Bruce of St. Petersburg, FL. David Price and wife Terrie of Dames Quarter, and Dena Price of Princess Anne; a sister, Brenda Howard of Marion Station; grandchildren, Eric Banks, Michael Banks and wife Heather, Christopher Price and wife Ericka, Aliza Price, Garrett Hurwitz and wife Marissa, Erika Hurwitz, and Leigha Peterson and husband Rick; great-grandchildren, Solana, Erlene, Kaiya, Leina, Colton, Emryn, Maddox, Kennidy, and Lyra; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 1 PM at Antioch United Methodist Church in Princess Anne.  Pastor Dean DeFino and Pastor Stephen S. Willing will officiate.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
