Obituary

Donald W. Dize, 88, of Crisfield, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield August 21, 1927, he was a son of the late William and Dorothy Dize. His wife of 63 years, Virginia M. Lane Dize, died July 31, 2013.

A retired machinist, he was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1944. He remained close to his classmates and enjoyed their annual class reunions.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield.

He loved dogs and enjoyed his extensive collection of stuffed dogs. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He also was a faithful patron of Gordon's and looked forward to going every morning until he was no longer able.

He is survived by his daughter, Jan Sterling and husband Mike of Crisfield; a son, Fred Dize and wife Connie of Marion; a granddaughter, Danielle Crockett and husband Shawn of Yorktown, VA; a great-grandson, Preston Crockett; and several nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Warren Dize in 1955; and a brother, Harlan Dize.

Funeral services officiated by Reverends Bob Daniels and Steve Willing will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tawes Nursing Home Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.
