Donald Elmer Caldwell, 85, of Delmar, MD and formerly of Crisfield, died Thursday, September 28, 2017.
Born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania on April 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Elmer and Blanche Mae McCormick Caldwell.
A retired salesman, he worked for Churchill, Reliable for 30+ years, and most recently for Mason Paper and A.E. Moore Janitorial.
He was a US Air Force veteran, life member of the former VFW Post #8274, member of the Crisfield American Legion, and member of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044. He enjoyed playing golf, especially at Winter Quarters in Pocomoke City. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and playing games with and doting on his granddaughter, Paige.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Jan Caldwell of Delmar; his daughter, Sarah Mae Brown and husband Jesse of Quantico; his granddaughter, Paige Carol Brown; nephews, Toddie and Jonathon Todd and their families of Crisfield; sister-in-law, Ruthie Todd of Crisfield; several cousins; and a special granddog, "Isabelle".
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, George W. Todd, III; and his niece, Angela "Dee-Dee" Todd.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wehburg and staff of the PRMC Cardio-Thoracic Surgery department for the tremendous care Don received over the past eight years.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where friends may visit one hour prior. Pastors Kevin Evans and Robert Daniels will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P. O. Box 406, Crisfield, MD 21817.
